Tools

CODIP developed tools are focussed on supporting application builders applying DAML technology to their systems.

DAML UML Enhanced Tool (DUET )

DUET provides a UML visualization and authoring environment for DAML. Core DAML concepts are being mapped into UML through a UML profile for DAML. DUET will have the capability to work with multiple ontologies simultaneously, and to interact with other DAML services to interactively build ontologies. It's intended users are database designers and systems engineers, many of who all ready have a good understanding of UML and object-oriented modeling, which they can leverage to apply DAML to their systems.

Version 0.3 of DUET is available as an Addin to Rational Rose or for use with ArgoUML. Seperate versions are availbale for each. V0.3 zip files are downloadable below. See the DUET documentaiton for additional information.

Hot DART

Our Hot DART project is leveraging IR&D funding, and existing GRCI developed GOTS applications (DART and DMIR) to build a distributed, web centric RDBMS meta-data analysis and management tool. The target users of this system are data stewards, and data integration system developers. The project is adding DAML import/export and articulation generation to existent database analysis and integration tools. This adds DAML technology to existing tools, with an existing customer base, as well as providing a web-based user interface for data mapping.

Status

A prototype of HotDART has been developed and demonstrated at the July 2001 DAML PI Meeting. It is a work in progress. For additional information about HotDART please contact Lewis Hart.

Hot DAML Driven Information Push (HotDDIP)

Our Hot DDIP project's objective is to provide content based publish and subscribe services for any stream of DAML documents. This document stream could be DAML marked up e-mails, military format messages, events in an ERP system or simply the documents collected by a web crawler. A user community will establish a HotDDIP service site, then both community members and other agreed upon sources could publish information through the HotDDIP service to users subscribed based on content description queries. The definition of the queries is based upon the eXtensible Query Language (XQL). Nominally, subscriptions can be submitted and managed through a WWW interface and published documents delivered through eMail.
