The Components for Ontology Driven Information Push (CODIP) program, as the name implies, is focusesd on the development of reusable software components for building information distribution systems. CODIP is primarily focussed on the development of ontology technology for components used to support information integration and translation, for example :

• Information search and retrieval across multiple domains, each with their own separate terminology,
• Translation of messages expressed in one ontology into the recipients desired ontology, or
• Integration of operational database systems into an integrated data warehouse/data mining system.

Technical Information

We are developing several ontology-centric products in three primary areas:

• UML based Tools to support visualization, application and management of ontologies,
• Services available on the WWW to support ontology aware applications with analysis, translation, and repository functionality, and
• Reusable Components that may be integrated into other applications.
  

Program Information

CODIP is a multiple year development program, sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Programs Agency (DARPA) CODIP is part of the DARPA Agent Markup Language (DAML) program, in the Information Exploitation Office (IXO). CODIP is being performed by AT&T Government Solutions by the Advanced Systems Group located at its headquarters in Vienna Virginia.
